NEW YORK, NY Jan 11, 2019 -- Krane Funds Advisors, LLC, (KFA) announced the integration of an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy which will help guide KFA business and investment processes. In 2019, KFA signed the United Nations-supported “Principles for Responsible Investment” (PRI) to support our commitment to responsible investing. KFA has formally incorporated an ESG policy into our corporate mandate to uphold the six principles of responsible investing laid out by the United Nations.

Exercising voting rights is one of the most effective ways for investors to communicate with management teams. As such, KFA has established internal guidelines, which we believe to be best practices, for proxy voting. In addition to our internal guidelines, we have engaged a third-party to assist with our proxy research and voting. As part of our ongoing ESG effort, we will engage with other third-party research and ESG consultants.

When possible, KFA will provide information on ESG, Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) or impact characteristics on strategies to clients. An important part of our investment process includes our frequent and on-going engagement with management teams and attendance at industry conferences. This helps with our ESG analysis and effort to advocate for best practices.
