Brendan Ahern is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at KraneShares where he is in charge of the firm’s research, education and investor outreach efforts.

Previously, Brendan worked at Neuberger Berman and Salomon Brothers, and was also an early pioneer of the US exchange traded fund (ETF) industry as one of the first 20 employees of iShares by BlackRock.

Within iShares, Brendan experienced the proliferation of ETFs and the growth of the ETF industry first hand. During his tenure at iShares he saw AUM grow from a few billion to $1.5 trillion. This “from the ground up" experience forged his comprehensive expertise with all aspects of the ETF industry including product development, marketing, branding, business strategy, operations, portfolio management, and trade execution.

Brendan’s role at KraneShares ensures he visits China frequently. He is a veracious consumer of Chinese financial news and is in regular contact with the firm’s Chinese partners. Brendan is considered a preeminent expert in global financial markets with a particular focus on China, and is often sought after by leading business and financial outlets including but not limited to CNBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal and Investor’s Business Daily.

Prior to joining KraneShares, Xiaolin was a lead portfolio manager with JPMorgan Private Bank where she managed portfolios for high net worth individuals totaling $70 billion collectively.

Over the last ten years Xiaolin has extensive experience in both London and New York in developing and managing investment solutions to help clients meet a wide range of investment targets and objectives.

Xiaolin holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Ph.D. in Computer Science, both obtained from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

In addition, the prices of securities sold in IPOs may be highly volatile. In addition, as KWEB increases in size, the impact of IPOs on KWEB’s performance will generally decrease.

Narrowly focused investments typically exhibit higher volatility. KWEB’s assets are expected to be concentrated in a sector, industry, market, or group of concentrations to the extent that the Underlying Index has such concentrations. However, shares may be redeemed at NAV directly by certain authorized broker-dealers (Authorized Participants) in very large creation/redemption units. Brokerage commissions will reduce returns. Beginning 12/23/2020, market price returns are based on the official closing price of an ETF share or, if the official closing price isn't available, the midpoint between the national best bid and national best offer ("NBBO") as of the time the ETF calculates the current NAV per share.
