According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) the world must invest $240 trillion between now and 2050 in order stave off the detrimental effects of climate change. This shift is creating one of the most significant investment opportunities of our lifetime. At the same time the challenges of divesting from carbon-intensive industries is an under acknowledged risk to investors’ portfolios.
